We strongly believe that the knowledge we gain from our research should be accessible not only to academics, but also to the general public. The more we talk to people in DC, the more we become aware that just about everyone is interested in language, and everyone has a lot to teach us about what language means to them.
We are especially interested in raising awareness about the value of linguistic and cultural diversity. We are available for outreach and public engagement work in the DC area. Please let us know if you would like us to work with your organization to plan and present a class, workshop or other program related to dialects and languages in DC!
