Welcome!

Welcome to the Language and Communication in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area project. Here you can find more information about our research, our findings, and language-related resources from around the DC area.

Our work has been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition, WAMU 88.5’s Kojo Nnamdi Show and Metro Connection, and at the 2012 and 2013 Conferences of the Historical Society of Washington, DC. Additionally, we have participated in the Humanitini event hosted by the Humanities Council of Washington, DC, and the project has been featured on the front page of the Washington Post!  We have also presented papers and published articles in various academic venues, and a number of graduate students have written or are writing exciting dissertations focusing on language and communication in Washington, DC.

Who will we interview next? If you are interested in participating in the LCDC study, please contact us.
